DisneyToon Studios, the Disney-based studio for its direct-to-video animation projects, has laid off nearly a third of its staff. The recent diminishment of the “Tinkerbell” franchise along with the direct-to-video market being a shell of its former money-making self were theorized to be the main culprits behind the layoffs.
Approximately 17 of the 60 full-time DisneyToon Studios employees were or are expected to be laid off .
